NASHVILLE, TN (September 16, 2021) – For the Marshall, Arkansas man who spent nearly a decade working on natural gas wells before taking a chance on himself, HEATH SANDERS caught the attention of listeners beyond the oil field with his first cover of Chris Stapleton’s “Either Way” in early 2018. Last night he continued the concept with an intimate version of “Faithfully,” earning praise from Journey keyboardist Jonathan Cain, who wrote the track. Watch here.
“From the first time I heard Steve Perry sing “Faithfully,” the lyrics and the melody blew me away,” explains Heath. “I always wanted to put it out at some point. It’s a rock song, it’s a country song, it’s really just a great iconic song! I’m blown away that people like my acoustic version of it. I’m just an ol’ blue collar country boy from Arkansas who happens to know a great song when he hears it, regardless of the genre.”
Heath crafted his own four-song collection Billboard found “addresses music with a natural blue-collar grit.” Released earlier this year via The Valory Music Co., COMMON GROUND opens with a fresh take on the core of his upbringing (“Old School’s In”), expresses the value of your word (“Can’t Undo I Do”) and builds on the character of his hometown community, yet it’s the title track that digs deepest with a message of unity in spite of differences. Named as one of Pandora’s 2021 Country Artists To Watch, Heath draws upon a lifetime of early mornings and long days in his music to emerge as the new voice of the workingman.
