NASHVILLE, TN (June 16, 2023) – Savana Santos has always been well-versed in the art of transforming angst and heartbreak into pristine, catchy bedroom Pop. Raised in Quincy, Illinois, the singer, songwriter and producer has been penning songs since she was just 14, cutting her teeth with visceral, diary-like storytelling. Setting her sights on herself, Santos has poured her full Pop-prowess into a brave and brilliant forthcoming full-length solo debut via The Valory Music Co. as the first taste arrives today with lead track “Messy,” listen here.
Delivering her signature crystalline vocals, the measured track opens with the words, “I didn’t know that you knew how to break a heart so good / To push and pull and twist a knife just like a bad guy would,” before she lands on the realization, ”But there’s a stupid selfish fucked up part of me that isn’t sad /I don’t want you to unlearn me yet.”
“I wrote ‘Messy’ at 2:00am one night when I was in my feelings,” Santos says. “It doesn’t always feel like a choice for me, I either sit with the feeling and let it soak into my body in a negative way or I can write about it and get it out in song form. I put an early version of the song on my Instagram two years ago, and to this day I still get messages asking when I’m putting it out or people telling me they’ve been rewatching the video. I knew it was one that stuck with my fans, so it was natural for me to release this first.”

Launching her career as lead vocalist of Avenue Beat, Santos’ love for sharp songwriting lead her to production, where she taught herself to craft captivating soundscapes for the viral trio. She co-penned and produced the group’s Top 40 pandemic track “F2020,” which garnered 17M+ views on TikTok and introduced the world to her knack for earnest, witty and devastatingly relatable hits. Since then, Santos has made a name in Nashville working with acts like Bea Miller, Cat Burns, Little Big Town and JP Saxe, among others.
