Chart-Topping Entertainer Discusses Baseball, Faith and Finding His Musical Path
Listen to His Interview + Performance of “Mercy” Here
NASHVILLE, TN (August 2, 2017) – PLATINUM-selling singer/songwriter Brett Young spoke to NPR’s Jacob Hobson for a “Here & Now” segment today, chatting about his musical path that began in Southern California as a pastor’s child. As a teenager, Young followed his passion and talent for baseball, landing a college scholarship until a pitching injury sidelined him. A blessing in disguise, Young shared how this ultimately led to his now meteoric rise as a Country singer/songwriter with two No. 1 hits with “Sleep Without You” and “In Case You Didn’t Know” and over 3 million in sales. Known for his emotive songwriting, Young also performed the song “Mercy” on “Here & Now” from his self-titled LP released earlier this year.
