NASHVILLE, TN (August 28, 2018) – Neo-traditionalist trio Midland received their first CMA Awards nominations this morning for Vocal Group of the Year, New Artist of the Year and Single of the Yearfor “Drinkin’ Problem.” They received their Single of the Year nomination alongside producers Dann Huff, Shane McAnally, and Josh Osborne, plus mix engineer Justin Niebank.

Gaining critical and mainstream appeal with their chart-topping debut album ON THE ROCKS (Big Machine Records), which The Washington Post touted as “the year’s best Country album,” today’s announcement is further proof Midland is on the rise.

With their apropos trifecta of nods, lead singer Mark Wystrach shared, “Surreal hearing this as I was at home on my family’s ranch, where I grew up on Country music and worshipping so many of my heroes who are former CMA nominees and winners. It’s really an incredible honor to be recognized and nominated alongside such legendary company.”

Bassist Cameron Duddy noted, “Grateful. Humbled. Surprised. Terrified. Honored. There are so many emotions but not enough words. Thank you Country Music fans and those who work to keep the Midland train on the rails. So much love for everyone right now!”

Continued guitarist Jess Carson, “So overwhelmed with gratitude. Thank you to our fans, the CMA, Country radio and our whole team for giving us this opportunity to be considered among such great artists.”

Midland made a bold sonic introduction with “Drinkin’ Problem” shooting to No. 1 at Country radio and earning PLATINUM certification. The trio recently released a video for the follow-up single “Burn Out,” an ode to their Country roots and shot in one take at legendary honkytonk Billy Bob’s. Continuing to dominate in 2018, their impressive live show goes on the road with Thomas Rhett’s LIFE CHANGES TOUR in September before their headline ELECTRIC RODEO TOUR begins later in October.

The 52nd Annual CMA Awards will broadcast live from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville Wednesday, Nov. 14 at 8/7c on the ABC Television Network.
