New Acoustic Version of “Jesus I’m Jealous” Available Now

In this new track, Carpenter peels back more layers to who she is and the relatability she feels her music should exude. As a “classic blonde beauty with a penchant for storytelling” (CMT), Carpenter has made it clear that meaningful music should strike a chord with anyone that listens. In a different approach to the standard “heartbreak in a bar” songs the country genre normally produces, the track goes far beyond just the frustration of loneliness.
“There are always times in life where you feel like you should have something you don’t already have or be somewhere you haven’t gotten to yet. ‘Jesus I’m Jealous’ is a song that lets you feel all those feelings while also spelling out that everything is gonna work out just fine,” shares Carpenter.
“Jesus I’m jealous, just had to tell you/ watching the two of them head over heels…I guess I was hoping I wouldn’t be lonely…” sings Carpenter softly, moving into the painfully honest bridge “I know you have a plan, and it’ll all work out some day/ but tonight, it feels so far away…”
Not only is painful honesty shining through, but the Georgia-native is coming into herself, letting her authentic personality and humble roots take the reins. Carpenter is determined not to forget where she came from and the faith that keeps her going, convincing listeners she understands their struggles from experience.
