NASHVILLE, TN (July 26, 2024) – Dubbed “a superstar just beginning to hit his stride” with his “impeccable songwriting and artistry” by SiriusXM, newcomer Greylan James is shooting his shot with his new release Who Broke Up With You,” out now. Written by James alongside heavy-hitters Brad Clawson and Ashley Gorley, the upbeat, made-for-summer song finds James breaking modern-day barriers of inauthentically flirting online, to instead, rolling the dice and talking to a girl in person. Made for the 20-somethings who dare to put themselves out there and make the moment count when the opportunity arrives, “Who Broke Up With You” marks James’ first song release since his Song of the Year win at the 2024 ACM Awards.

“I’ve been counting down the days to this song dropping, and I couldn’t be more through the roof with excitement about it finally being out there,” said James. “This song is for anyone who is better off without the person that didn’t know what they had when they had it. Y’all crank it up loud for me.”

James, whose voice Billboard deemed “an ideal transport for blue-collar romantic dramas,” first came onto the artist scene with his debut single “Young Man,” released last October. The acoustic-anchored song, penned by James and esteemed Nashville songwriters Jacob Davis and Josh Miller, spills the tale of a younger man finding wisdom in the teachings of his elders. Already established as a “celebrated songwriter” (Country Now), James has earned cuts from some of Country music’s most notable artists including Kenny Chesney, Chris Young, Cole Swindell, Darius Rucker, Chris Janson, Bailey Zimmerman, Breland and more. He landed his first No. 1 song with Jordan Davis’ “Next Thing You Know,” which also earned James his first ACM Awards win and CMA Awards nomination for Song of the Year.

James has joined Country stars Old Dominion, Cole Swindell, Scotty McCreery and more on the road, and this fall, he will join Ashley Cooke on her your place Tour. Starting this fall and continuing into early 2025, the tour will hit 17 cities across the country including Chicago, New York City and more. ABOUT GREYLAN JAMES: From the moment his Papaw gifted him his first guitar at the age of 5, one of Nashville’s most exciting young breakout Country stars Greylan James knew he was meant to be a musician. The Knoxville-raised artist-on-the-rise has been manifesting his vision of Country music stardom since his earliest days: from those cleats and cowboy hats he wore to school to playing every sort of live show imaginable from tailgates to patios and dive bars to funerals around his hometown. Since moving to Music City eight years ago, James has become a “celebrated songwriter” (Country Now) earning cuts from some of Country music’s most notable artists including Kenny Chesney, Chris Young, Cole Swindell, Darius Rucker, Chris Janson, Bailey Zimmerman, Breland and more. The singer/songwriter recently earned his first No. 1 and ACM Award for Song Of The Year, co-writing Jordan Davis’ smash hit “Next Thing You Know.” The song also earned James his first CMA Award nomination for Song Of The Year. To date, James’ songbook has amassed more than 650M streams. And while James has undoubtedly been incredibly successful penning hits for others in the writer’s room, he’s ready to strike out on his own with the release of his anticipated debut single “Young Man.” Co-written alongside esteemed Nashville songwriters Jacob Davis and Josh Miller, and dedicated to James’ late grandfather, the reflective song of notching wisdom from one’s elders is his most personal song yet. James follows the fan-favorite track with “Who Broke Up With You,” out now. After joining Old Dominion and Cole Swindell on the road in 2023, James has supported Scotty McCreery’s CAB IN A SOLO TOUR and Adam Doleac’s WRONG SIDE OF A SUNRISE TOUR in 2024. Next, he looks forward to joining Ashley Cooke on her your place Tour starting this fall into early 2025. For a full list of tour dates and more, visit GreylanJames.com.
