Powerhouse Vocalist Pens Lyrical Truths Detailing Her Personal Struggles with Anxiety
Bradbery’s A SPECIAL PLACE TOUR Heads to Nashville on May 18 as Namesake Single Rises at Country Radio with 13M+ Streams to Date
NASHVILLE, TN (April 24, 2023) – Danielle Bradbery is no stranger to lyrical truths. Whether accepting she deserves more than someone’s “Potential” or sharing an empowering message on “Worth It,” the powerhouse vocalist is at her best when pouring her heart into song. On Friday (4/28), Bradbery faces an unshakeable “Monster” with a vulnerable new track detailing her personal struggles with anxiety. Fans can pre-save “Monster” here.
“I went to Los Angeles for a writing trip last year and the songs I was trying to create, weren’t aligning with where my mind and heart were at,” shared Bradbery. “On the last morning, I was feeling anxious and knew I needed to write about it. I started talking about living with anxiety, something I’ve struggled with for a while – how the weight of it can feel like a monster that doesn’t leave you alone, causing you to be someone you’re not and at times, can almost be crippling to your body.”
Penned by Bradbery alongside Lauren LaRue (Sam Hunt, Arizona Zervas, JoJo, Alana Springsteen, Jimmie Allen) and Sam De Jong (Alec Benjamin, Lennon Stella, Gracie Abrams, Marina, Little Mix), the Nathan Chapman and Derek Wells-produced track delivers a haunting chorus that carries the unbearable weight:
You always lie to me, then you lie down with me
You won’t leave and you’re so unhealthy
You’re breakin’ me, messin’ with my head
It feels like a bad dream and I wonder why I can’t sleep
When you’re here ‘cause I know the monster
He ain’t under the bed
‘Cause he’s in it with me
“This song means a lot to me,” she adds. “Writing a song like ‘Monster’ was a form of therapy and I hope it’s the same experience for my fans. We all deal with a monster in our lives and this song is a reminder that no matter what that struggle may be for you, you’re not alone.”
Hot on the heels of a nine-date run featuring multiple sold-out date, Bradbery brings her first-ever headline A SPECIAL PLACE TOUR to Nashville at The Basement East on May 18 with special guest CB30. Serving as inspiration for the tour, her fiery new single “A Special Place” (Big Machine Records) has amassed over 13M+ streams to date while rising at Country radio as CMT touts its “heavy-hitting narrative that will drive young women to see their self-worth.” Earlier this month, Bradbery performed at the historic Ryman Auditorium for Breland’s annual benefit concert supporting Nashville’s Oasis Center before joining her friend on a reimagined version of his “Happy Song (Amazon Original),” available now. The Texas native will also reunite with her “Midnight Crisis” duet partner Jordan Davis on the road for select dates this fall.
