NASHVILLE, TN (August 2, 2018) – With heart-on-your sleeve lyrics and full-bodied vocals, CARLY PEARCE has long emulated the rich sounds of her 90s Country influences. This weekend, fans will see eras collide when she takes the stage with one of her early inspirations, DEANA CARTER. The pair filmed a crowd-roaring duet of Carter’s 1996 No. 1 hit “Strawberry Wine,” which airs on CMT Hot 20 Countdown(#CMThot20) Saturday (8/4) and Sunday (8/5) mornings at 9/8c.

“I cover ‘Strawberry Wine’ in a lot of my shows, but the experience of standing next to Deana … chills,” recalls Carly. “She has one of those honest, encompassing voices that you really feel in your core. I’m honored we could perform together!”
“After 20 years of this career-making song continuing to impact listeners, being able to sing it with someone like Carly was such a joy,” shared Carter. “I love watching new talents grow, and the emotive way she connects with this coming of age song was really special.”
CMT favorites Cody Alan and Katie Cook co-hosted the concert special in front of a sold-out audience at Nashville’s Marathon Music Works for a mix of today’s mainstream Country musicians and artists that ruled the airwaves in the 90s. The lineup also featured Brothers Osborne, Tracy Lawrence, Easton Corbin, Lucie Silvas, Doug Stone, Travis Denning, Darryl Worley and Shenandoah alongside hit-maker Adam Sanders (Cole Swindell’s “Ain’t Worth the Whiskey” and Dustin Lynch’s “Hell of A Night”), who created the themed events in 2017. Proceeds from the night benefited the T.J. Martell Foundation.
Carly is quickly becoming “Country’s ‘it’ girl” (ABC News Radio), defying odds with her No. 1 debut “Every Little Thing,” which steered a chart-topping trifecta on SiriusXM’s The Highway. With the GOLD-certified ballad, Carly became the highest charting solo female debut since July 2015 and one of only three to accomplish the feat in twelve years. She’s engaging audiences across generations, picking up CMT Music Awards Breakthrough Video of the Year for “Every Little Thing” and Radio Disney Music Award The Freshest! – Radio Disney Country Best New Artist and honoring the legendary voices before her with over 50 performances at the Grand Ole Opry. This year, she holds a coveted slot on four major tours with Blake Shelton, Thomas Rhett, Rascal Flatts and Luke Bryan (including stadium dates). Carly will perform her current Big Machine Records single “Hide The Wine” on the CMA Fest special, airing on ABC next Wednesday (8/8) at 8/7c.
