BRANTLEY GILBERT OPENS BLACKOUT TOUR WITH CAPACITY CROWDS

Nashville, TN (February 3, 2016) – Following a standing-room-only opening weekend of the BLACKOUT TOUR’s North American leg, BRANTLEY GILBERT is gearing up for another season on the road. The Georgia native will continue the momentum this summer headlining his TAKE IT OUTSIDE summer tour.

“We’re just getting started bringing the music to the people,” says the back-to-back PLATINUM Country album sellers. “We hit that stage in Saginaw, and the crowd was lit up. Makes you wanna hit the road, and stay out there – when the people are so raging. We knew when we did this arena tour, we were gonna wanna take it outside! We don’t have all the dates in place, but I want the fans in these markets to know I’m coming.”

The Georgia native will continue the momentum with his headline TAKE IT OUTSIDE amphitheater tour this summer, kicking off June 2 in Mansfield, MA at XFinity Center. The 22-date and counting throwdown will run into October with Platinum-selling labelmate Justin Moore and “Dirt Road Anthem” co-writer Colt Ford joining the bill as special guests. All three have toured with each other over the years, building up an energy that should make for a night of hardcore outsider Country – from Brantley’s harder rock to Justin’s modern twang chart-toppers and Colt’s rap-forward style. Brantley and Justin gave fans a taste of their adrenile-fueled performances last year, collaborating with Thomas Rhett for “Small Town Throwdown.”

“We’ve all done so many things together,” Gilbert explains with a mischievous laugh. “This is one of those tour’s that’ll be crazy before it even rolls. Justin likes to really push the limits, and he’s a pretty serious performer. Colt is one of those guys who gets how to hit a crowd right between the eyes. If you love your  country on the rougher side, this is gonna be a show for you.”

Gilbert’s unrelenting brand of country has notched six #1s: “Country Must Be Country Wide,” “You Don’t Know Her Like I Do,” “Bottoms Up” and “One Hell Of An Amen” as well as two smashes he penned and Jason Aldean recorded. More full-tilt, more aggressive, yet supremely grounded in the red clay he was raised in, The New York Times wrote of JUST AS I AM (The Valory Music Co.), “What elegance Mr. Gilbert manages in this demolition derby. Mr. Gilbert comes on like a revving monster-truck engine, backed by heavy rock guitar, but there’s a slyness to his singing. Beneath his boxy exterior, there’s an active intelligence about melody and texture…In a country era where hardness isn’t valorized in the least, he’s unapologetically rough, singing with the tenderness of a chain saw. And on this strong album — his third in a row — he betrays no shame about his creatine-fueled version of country music.”

Gilbert, who takes writing the songs of his life as seriously he does the fans who feel like they live inside those songs, lives to bring the music to the people. With two nights at Colorado’s iconic Red Rocks, the Bay area’s Shoreline Amphitheater, the man who won the 2015 American Music Awards Favorite Country Album for JUST AS I AM is matching the BLACKOUT TOUR with an equally comprehensive collection of outdoors dates, which will be announced in the coming months.
