Rising Star Raises $50,000 for Hometown with Sold-Out Show
JACKSONVILLE, AL (April 2, 2018) – When BMLG Records recording artist and Jacksonville native RILEY GREEN learned about the devastation tornadoes caused to his hometown on March 19 he immediately started making calls to see how he could help. One of his first moves was to contact Steve Demedicis, the owner of Iron City in Jacksonville – a venue that Riley has sold out several times. Demedicis told Riley he could perform a hometown show at his venue and not only would he allow all tickets sales to be used for relief efforts, Iron City would also donate an additional $1,500.00. Todd Hagerty, General Manager of the entertainment complex at 513 22nd St. South, agreed to cover all expenses and production related to the benefit concert.
Green performed the benefit show this past Friday night (March 30) to another sold-out crowd and presented the Jacksonville State University Foundation with a check for $50,000. Green chose the JSU non-profit because he attended the university and played quarterback for the football team. The JSU Foundation will distribute the funds throughout the Jacksonville community to those in need as a result of the disaster.
Green is currently in the studio working on his debut music for BMLG Records whose roster includes Florida Georgia Line and Brett Young. Earlier this year he signed a publishing deal with Warner/Chappell. For more information, visit RileyGreenMusic.com.
