NASHVILLE, TN (August 9, 2022) – Leading independent music companies Big Machine Label Group and Blac Noize! Recordings announce today the signing of rising hip-hop star Doobie. Melding together influences from rock and hip-hop, Doobie is an eclectic star in the making who burst onto the scene with viral hits “Nikki Sixx,” “Icy T*tties” ft. Caskey and “Hate Song” and quickly racked up over 600 million views on YouTube. Moving against the grain, the Ohio native writes and produces much of his music, including new single “Meditation” arriving on Friday with an accompanying music video.
“Meditation is about the come up from nothing to something. The risks you take to get to where you want to be. The pain you felt because you wanted more. The feeling of not being appreciated,” shares Doobie.
With plans to bring these struggles to life, the music video will also reveal the frustration that is felt when the sacrifices and hard work are not paying off. “Sometimes you gotta pay the price,” he sings, “you could buy anything you want but time.”
Just like his music, Doobie as always stuck out. Keeping his songs reflective of his life struggles, including a battle with drug addiction from a young age, Doobie’s unmatched determination to share his personal story strikes a chord.
