NASHVILLE, TN (September 27, 2019) – The collective of Sami Bearden, Savana Santos and Sam Backoff, known as AVENUE BEAT, hosted a happy hour yesterday (9/26) at SandBar Nashville – setting the perfect stage for an introduction to Music City’s community and industry. The trio kicked off the event with a performance of tracks from their self-titled EP (The Valory Music Co./Tape Room Records) including the hilarious self-empowering “Delight,” girl-code directive “Be A Bro,” post-break-up anthem “Ruin That For Me” and the autobiographical “Broke.” Avenue Beat also treated the crowd to a round of unreleased songs “Rom Com” and “Validation.”
The Quincy, Illinois natives who grew up ingesting social media platforms and theater groups – and turned into the notes of a chord that lands somewhere between Taylor Swift ascending and Billie Eilish at her most real. Making music together since they were 14-years-old at summer theater camp teaching one another to harmonize, the childhood friends ultimately formed Avenue Beat and began making trips to Nashville before officially moving after graduation. The now 21-year-old besties are strong, smart, fun – in love with life, each other and getting on with it – Avenue Beat is the fresh face of new feminism, while blowing off being told who girls are supposed to be. Lead singer Savana co-produced their debut EP alongside David Garcia and Ashley Gorley.
Avenue Beat returns to Mason Ramsey’s HOW’S UR GIRL & HOW’S UR FAMILY TOUR for Pt. II on select dates this fall, beginning October 24 in Indianapolis, IN. For the latest information, visit AvenueBeat.com and follow along on Instagram.
