NASHVILLE, TN (March 28, 2025) – Breakout duo Something Out West, made up of actor/singer Chet Hanks and singer/songwriter Drew Arthur, are following up their debut track, “Leaving Hollywood” with the release of “You Better Run,” available now. Written by Drew Arthur alongside Brendan Cooney and TJ Courtney, the track is a cautionary tale with a sense of urgency in its message. Timed to the release of the song, the duo released an official music video, which playfully features a famed-and-familiar Hollywood film role and surprise cameo that is also a nod to the song’s title, “You Better Run.”

The breakout group continues to garner attention with its strong songwriting foundation and independently grown fanbase and still has so much more to come. Something Out West began in California, where Chet and Drew were roommates on a shared journey toward sobriety. After forming a deep friendship and musical collaboration, their late-night jams and songwriting sessions led them to Nashville and the official creation of their duo. Their story caught the attention of Scott Borchetta – Chairman & CEO of Big Machine Label Group – which led to the duo signing with Big Machine Records. After the release of their debut track, “Leaving Hollywood,” on February 28th, the momentum continued with their songwriting and recording, leading to the creation of their EP, due out this summer.
In addition to being half of Something Out West, Chet Hanks stars in Netflix’s new #1 hit series Running Point, playing current basketball star/aspiring musician Travis Bugg. Drew Arthur, a Nashville-based singer-songwriter from Florida, is known for his introspective lyrics and dynamic melodies. Together, they’ve crafted a unique sound that blends Nashville’s music scene with fresh, contemporary influences.
